Returning to the lands of the living, Lord Sauron realized that this wouldn't be easy. There was no longer one world to conquer, there was an entire galaxy to be conquered! And although the hobbits had gone, Elves and Goblins still roamed the many worlds in space ships far more powerful than anything he could have ever imagined. Sauron decided that his time had not come...... yet.
For reasons that will probably never be understood, some kind of alien Gods decided to give him a hand. Probably not knowing who he was, they gave him a flying scrapheap, and although this wasn't the best he could have wished for, at least it had a really cool weapon, a primitive laser! He named this vessel Sauron's Revenge, and quite soon he had found some dumm guy who dared to fly this scrapheap throughout the galaxy and even thought it was fun (indeed, that dumm guy is me!). His mission would be to make this the biggest, most highly armed ship the galaxy had ever seen, manned with the best crew and officers imaginable!
Therefore, the goals of the SS Sauron's Revenge are to achieve officer levels superior to those of all other ships that roam the galaxy. This will be achieved by taking on all possible challenges (adventures) and by careful studying the skills needed to survive in this hostile environment.
High tech modules will be gathered by all possible means although mostly non-earthly creatures had to feel the power of the SS Sauron's Revenge up till now, with the exception of a few ships which were (e.g. Mendelssohn) or are still (e.g. BSL) regarded as pirates according to SIR criteria and which have been a most useful source of modules. Dybuk releasers will be punished especially hard by the SS Sauron's Revenge, for the Evil One does not like competition. Other means of gathering modules and energy include trading of contraband, intimidation of alien homeworlds, and salvage of treasure modules after the successful completion of risky adventures.
Until these goals are achieved, Lord Sauron does not bother to set foot on board of the SS Sauron's Revenge, and until then, other humans will not have to fear attacks by the Evil One.
I wish you a comfortable flight and lots of success for whatever your goals are in this game. Maybe there will come a time where I will start a renegade campaign, but I guess that you guys will notice this soon enough via the SST when the time has come! ;-)
Turn 234: A demo space ship is offered to me by the Great Old Ones at Tauri. Completely lacking any trading info, and with no alliances to join, I decide to try my luck as an adventurer. My first acquisition is a primitive impulse drive, ship growth consists solely of treasure modules, regular asteroid mining is used to finance the crew expenses.
Turn 652: The space ship Sauron's Revenge leaves this galaxy in search for new adventures...
I would especially like to thank the captains of the following space ships for making those 418 turns, or three (!) years, such a great time! Of course all SIR members and especially Heart of Gold who was there with me right from the start, Mendelssohn (both old and new), LUG'S BELT, Delirium, Black Pig, Constitution, HMS Utopia, Flying Dutchman and Starforth! The TBG community has a great spirit that is nowadays (unfortunately) more and more rarely seen on the Internet.
Turn 255: Around this time, I am being attacked by Better Ship Lollipop, due to superior sensors and impulse drives, I manage to flee before taking any damage. Module count: 0 to 0.
Turn 260: Around this time, assuming that piracy is normal in TBG (since BSL had attacked me without provocation) I attack Delirium twice, first battle is lost, second is won, only minor loots on both sides. Later on, I have repaid Delirium for the damage done and we are on peaceful terms for over 300 turns now.
Turn 290: A high mortality rate among the crew threatens the further existence of the space ship Sauron's Revenge. Being the merciless beings they are, the Great Old ones never gave away a sickbay or life support as treasure and the drop in crew health cannot be stopped. The next 20 turns are used to scrape together enough money to buy a life support and to build up crew again in order to be able to continue adventuring.
Turn 300: Around this time, a bless Sn artifact is acquired but scrapped after some time due to favour shortage.
Turn 310: There is a new alliance around, the IRS, their philosophy is to share information but let each of the members choose their own way. I decide to become a member and the shared information proved invaluable for the development of Sauron's Revenge, it allowed much more efficient adventuring and later on also trading. Later on, since the outside world blamed the entire alliance for the behaviour of individual members, the IRS set up a set of rules which had to be followed by it's members, renegades were kicked out, and the alliance was renenamed to SIR.
Turn 334: 100th BIRTHDAY!!!!
Turn 350: Around this time, a bless Wp artifact is acquired.

Turn 396: I am hit by the dybuk of evil, all 80 modules loose 20% reliability.
Turn 397: Attacked by Better Ship Lollipop, the battle is lost but the module score is on my side. Module count: 3 to 1.
Turn 398: Sauron's Revenge jumps to Olympus for extensive repairs and is out of rotation for about 25 turns.
Turn 430: Sauron's Revenge hits mass 100.
Turn 432: Sauron's Revenge breaks the $10000 barrier.
Turn 432: Cherokee-A is to be punished for an unprovoked attack on a SIR member. S.R. spits on him and it's a restart *evil grin*. Module count: 13 to 0.

Turn 475: Bless Sn artifact captured from Troll 84.

Turn 521: First banking activities: $407 lend to HMS Utopia, repayment of $1000 due for turn 621.
Turn 522: By collecting $5652 from the pixie homeworld Sauron's Revenge makes it's 32nd alien enemy.
Turn 549: Attacked by Mendelssohn who was an enemy of SIR at that time, after 20 rounds, the battle is won. Module count 57 to 12.
Turn 575: Sweet revenge on Better Ship Lollipop. Sometimes, three battle rounds seem much too short. Module count: 9 to 4.
Turn 580: 32nd plague cured at Polaris

Turn 594: Our medical officer successfully completes the moon 3 adventure and has now completed all 16 adventures.

Turn 599: Our weaponry officer successfully completes the moon 3 adventure and has now completed all 16 adventures.
Turn 599: Bless Ls artifact captured from Goblin 124, we have now got a complete set of eight artifacts.
Turn 603: Our science officer gets his 8th academy level and reaches level 32.
Turn 651: The space ship Sauron's Revenge fights it's final battle against the allmighty Wolverine. The battle is lost. Module count 69 to 54 in my favour.
Oops, I almost forgot, I was also the co-leader of this really fine alliance called SIR.
