The U.S.S. Opus may have announced in the SST that I'm running for President. This is true, but a certain supporter of Constitution, either acting on orders or his own initiative, has sent a lackey to pummell me for taking a Homeworld previously owned by him. Said Homeworld had a mere 23 influence on it, so I considered it to be for the taking. Assuming I escape from this intact, I'll still be attempting to gather votes to get on the ballot. Since it seems to be becoming common practice, I'm going to start posting a log, once I'm finished going through some of my previous turnfiles. But first, a brief synopsis of the career of the Spelljammer from before I saved my turnfiles.

The Spelljammer first appeared in orbit over Betelgeuse sometime in the 400's (I can't remember the precise turn). As is common with newbies, I blundered about cluelessly doing stupid newbie things. Eventually, I realized I was getting nowhere in my current ship, so I hit the restart to try again.

I reappeared over Hydrae and proceeded with a bit more forethought. I managed to get somewhere when I got paired with a Goblin and got splattered.

For my third try, I reread the combat section more carefully so that sort of thing wouldn't happen again. Once more I was making some progress when I met up with a much bigger Snake. Possibly having a brief mental lapse, I forgot that I shouldn't have any officer actions while hiding. I got shot up pretty bad and was left with just a primitive warp and impulse. So off I scampered to Star #31 to rebuild my meager funds by doing some asteroid mining. After several turns, I was ready to rebuild.
