The Stately Pleasure Dome of Hunka Hunka Burnin' Chrome

On turn #557 my Science officer attempted a Near Space 2 adventure at Star #33. With it's successful completion, my officers' days of seeking the ancient knowledge and experience found by adventuring have drawn to a close. (Ironically, I have subsequently moved into second place for the "Most Known Adventures" ranking.)

And while I could continue to foster their advancement at the various Academies, or retire to take my place amongst the legends, I feel my greatest work is still ahead of me, as I shift my role to that of an educator.

What's so funny about peace, love & understanding?

(They make for boring game elements, for one.)

And so I have noticed, both in my personal interactions with other players and in stories told by compatriots, that most captains don't seem to have any clue how to engage in commerce between players. Especially when that commerce involves combat.

I have taken this deficit up as a personal crusade. And I shall teach by example, while trying to tailor the lesson to the relative experience of the captain (as well as the space-worthiness of his ship). A side benefit is that I may raise awareness of ship-to-ship communication, since by hailing me, it may become possible to glean what portion of the curriculum I am teaching on a particular turn.
